Fast Facts
Texas State values diversity in its classrooms, residence halls, dining venues and recreational events. The university offers 100 undergraduate programs in a supportive, academically challenging environment. Bobcats hail from across Texas and across the United States, as well as from countries as far away as India, China and Israel. No matter where they come from, students find countless campus organizations that serve as enclaves of activity and support for those searching for familiar faces and customs — or wanting to discover new ones. Approximately one-third of the university’s 26,000 undergraduates are ethnic minorities; of these, approximately 25 percent are Hispanic/Latino. This diversity contributes to the richness of the Bobcat experience. Texas State’s investment in students results in freshman-to sophomore retention and graduation rates that rank near the highest in the state.
