Program Description

Building Roads to Intellectual Diversity and Great Education (B.R.I.D.G.E.) is an intensive, four-week residential academic enrichment and leadership program that brings together first-generation college-bound, low-income or African-American or Latino students from the Chicagoland area who are interested in preparing for admission to college. The two-year summer program prepares Christian high school students for college through a curriculum that fosters their intellectual, leadership and spiritual growth.

In honoring its commitment to promote diversity, address inequalities, pursue academic excellence and foster spiritual growth, Wheaton College offers the B.R.I.D.G.E. program completely free of charge. The College pays for all program materials, faculty, housing, food and activities through its generous endowment. Additionally, if students complete the two-year program and are admitted to Wheaton, they will receive a guaranteed minimum $1,500 scholarship per year to Wheaton College ($6,000 total for 4 years) and they will also be eligible to apply to additional scholarships offered to multicultural students.
